Sit Tight!

|
Sit tight my pretties! I am making some revisions to my blog.
It should be back up ready to run with the billy goats within a couple of weeks!

Good morning bloggy lovers. This gem is just for you on this glorious Tuesday morning.

Music Monday

|

Just a few more days and I will be in the presence of Ryan Bingham!
ACL 2010 here I come!

Uncle Karl

|
The lastest post by Karl Lagerfeld, dear readers, is why I love fashion. Precisely.

Music Monday

|

One of my new favorites, Good Old War, totally rocks this song live. Check em out.

Dawes will be at ACL Fest and are new for me as well. They are the new band I am most excited about all weekend. They seem like a good mellow Sunday band, getting ready band, or cooking dinner band.

Camp Fashion

|
After an interesting discussion I had today, it is decidedly correct that Alexander McQueen's more outrageous designs are Camp. As in Campy, as in he-went-camping when he created this. Love it!

Going the Distance

|

This movie was really fun. The plot is easy to follow, typical rom-com. Drew Barrymore of course kills it as our feminine heroine. This movie feels so natural, like Barrymore and Long aren't acting at all, like it is a look into their real lives. The comedy of the dialogue is completely sexual in a good way. There is no tip-toeing around what everyone is thinking but the actors cant say. They just come out and say it.

See it.

Music Monday

It's getting to be quickly, and there are just a few songs that inherently scream fall for me. Here are a few of them for you my dahlings.

Fleet Foxes do an amazing job rounding this one.

Had to throw Ryan in there. I guess fall reminds me of snuggly love sheets. This song by Ryan Adams is my ultimate snuggly loves sheets song. It's haunting, melodious, upsetting yet quieting at the same time.

Counting Crows and Adam Duritz epitomize the use of the light jacket for wearing one's heart on one's sleeve.

Last but not least in my musical heart, Augustana. "Either Way" is a song that embodies the goodbye waves and hello kisses of fall.

This video is just so beautiful I had to share it. Check out Lily and the Muse to see more fantastical videos of the like.

Here's a little eye candy for the day. I think I might be falling into an Elvis spiral! Watch out Memphis, I'm comin for ya.

Music Monday

I CAN NOT believe I missed Music Monday AGAIN! It's already Wednesday! I was sooo excited about the new school year that I completely forgot all of my bloggy friends.

So here are a couple of really rad videos I found on the youtube. I promptly posted them on all of my friend's facebook pages as well, so if you've seen 'em already. WATCH THEM AGAIN!

These are The Morning Benders. A new band that happens to be super fun and lovely.

This youtube site, LaBlogotheque, is the shizzle fo rizzle. They construct a bunch of amazing take away shows from artists that travel through France.

Sunday Jams

This is how I'm spending my Sunday morning. Joe Purdy is an amazing songwriter and if you don't know him I feel sad for your soul.

Back To School Needs

|

These are my MUST HAVE for winter. I am in love with this taupe color but could also go for the original brown. I can imagine these with skinny jeans, skirts and tights and even shorts for this winter. Oh please Santa Claus, I've been a really good girl this year!

Check em out at Frye's drool worthy website!

Happy Sunday

|

Good Morning bloggy lovers. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood/apartment complex and also the last day of summer available. This means it's my last chance for my morning to start at noon.

Oh How Sweet It Is!

These are Ryan's sex me eyes. I keep coming back to them for a little love this weekend.

Enjoy it best friends and would-be-lovers.

Next Outing!

The next time my life is revolving around out-of-town bars, I am rocking this look. Falsies... check!!!

All in a Turquoise Dream.

|
So I have been dreaming about this exact car for a couple of weeks now. My sister and I with two slightly strange old friends driving around the Texas hill country listening to old tunes with the top down.

Check out this week ride @ this sweet website.

Music Monday

|
In leu of recent alcohol induced music blogging, it is time once again, for the REAL Music Monday.

New Arcade Fire Album is out and completely rockin'. . . Like, to the core. It's a bit more mellow than "Funerals" but is still worth your rent (or a portion of it).

Also, Ray Lamontagne's new album comes out tomorrow, "God Willin and the Creek Don't Rise". It should be another classic Ray L. album. Mellow acoustic jams that will make your girl bat her lashes at you circa Sebastian in "The Little Mermaid".

Also. For those of you who do not listen to Sonic Youth already, check em out. Too bad they are gone, but they left enough love to spread on this music sandwich.

Goodnight loverlies.
Enjoy.

I Keep Looking for the Blindfold Faith.

|

I have lost a lover and gained a friend. Noteworthy news I felt best expressed in this amazing version of Classic Cars with Gillian Welch.

Music Friday: 90's love.

|

Another childhood love, while we are on the 90's subject. All horniness for Brett Scallions aside.

Music Friday: 90's love.

|

So I hate this video, but SUCH a good song.

I'm on a Create Highhorse!

|
So,

It seems that taking initiative to start creating a wedding dress has spurred my imagination. RIT dye + white curtains = RAD! And also, I made a journey to the Home Depot to scout out some lumber to build a desk. I am tooo picky to actually purchase one that I truly love, so therefore I am going to MAKE ONE!

The only ingredient necessary now is a man  with a table saw. Watch out men of Greeley, I'm comin for ya (in a burly sawdust kind of way).

Goodnight future lovers and friends!

Creative Slump.

|
Larry McMurty said in his memoir titled "Books" that in order to keep himself on task he wrote 5 pages a day. If he woke up and started his day with 5 pages, he would have the rest of the day to go about his business as he pleased. A sort of creative diet, if you will. If I had to donate 5 pages worth of time every morning, what would I donate it to? The turquoise typewriter on my desk? The wedding dress due in December? A garmet of my own design? A painting of colors and moods?

It almost the end of summer, laugh and start your week out in a Biz Markie kinda way!

This lovely little number opened for Thrice last night in Denver and it was amazing. This song is my new favorite thing! Check it out.

Bluesy Blues

|

So i stumbled upon this rendition of the lovely song "I Think It's Going to Rain Today" on Pandora's Regina Spektor radio of all things. HOWEVER. This is so lovely I couldn't help but share it with you all. This song is a Randy Newman favorite although not written by him. Norah Jones, being the queen of covers, does a fantastic job of it in my opinion.

This cluster of images comes from ohjoy! a blog that is too fun to be fabulous. The third dusty image in which the blonde is contemplating the decision between vodka or whiskey is lovely. Wedding do' for shore.

This song only exists as a youtube video at present and it is SUCH a good song I had to share. I hope it inevitably makes it to the ipod someday as is the way of most things. I have already shared it once here, but I feel it is too good not to share twice.

This is an Austin fellow whom I love dearly. If you haven't heard any of his albums, i would suggest Lonelyland first, follow in chronological order after that. This man also broke my dear dear H's concert cherry so he holds a special place in our hearts.

Jacob Dylan's new album "Women and Country" is a step away from previous albums in that he has steered away from his usual crooning about random things. This album plays of things that he knows and loves. Ch-ch-ch-check-checkitout.

Guitar!

So I'm learning this song on guitar. It will be acoustic, so way way way less epic. But a good start to my career I  am thinking.

What do you think?

World Cup vs. NCAA baseball

|
Today it's rainy. There is serious overcast, it has been raining all morning, and I find myself perfectly positioned on our futon. Starbuck coffee in hand and channel changer in the opposite position changing channels from ESPN to our local World Cup game. USA vs. England.

Texas needs to beat TCU to stay in the regional playoffs. It's a little nervous, yes, the game is nervous. Yesterday in the game that was lost, this fellow Kevin Keyes hit a homerun, which didn't help for the win, obviously.

And in World Cup news, what are the ladies watching the world cup going to do without Beckham this year?  Well, here are a just a few things,
Landon Donovan for USA, Guillermo Ochoa for Mexico, Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal

MMM. yay.

CMT Snaffoo

|
So last night was the CMT Awards and one of the only nice things I can say about it is that John Mayer is hott and Tim McGraw's pants are tighter than a baseball players, Hellooo!

However, poor Kelly Pickler needs a new stylist. This is just toooo tight and T.O.? Weird.

However, the Keith Urban/John Mayer jam was delicious.

Saturday Night Fever.

|
So last night my beautiful sister and myself celebrated our Saturday night by immersing ourselves in the country music culture. We were transported back to our roots while watching Alan Jackson videos from the 1990's, 2009's CMT Country Music Awards, and last but not least, watching/learning a line dance to the country classic, "Boot Scootin Boogie".

So, if you see us on the street, don't hesitate to request to see our superior Boot Scootin' Boogie skills.

Here is a sampling of what our Saturday night consisted of:

Gotta love that mustache and ripped up jeans. What a hottie!

This old guy has SERIOUS line dancing skills. He has got various instructional videos online teaching an older generation how to line dance.

Lurvely New Artist.

|

This girl is amazing. Audra Mae. She is from Oklahoma and has a not-so-surprisingly great album review in the new Filter (The 40th issue). A lovely little jewelry maker and I saw her recently in Denver along with Good Old War.

Turns out I already had her on my ipod singing an equally lurvely cover of a Niel Young fav, featured on a great show Sons of Anarchy. Small, small world it is.

Friday Nap = Friday Coma.

|
Woke up looking like Robert Pattinson this morning after my nap turned into a coma. I was napping at 6:30 on the couch and didn't wake up until 9:00 this morning, but oh how I feel so great!

Friday Plans

|
1. Go home
2. Watch Freestyle Friday

3. Take a nap

4. Get ready for the nightlife.

It's been a while since my last posting. My apologies. The weekend was debauchery and zoo animals. Needless to say I haven't had a spare moment for Love.

However, I have found a new youtube user who has a WONDERFUL collection of DRA videos. I have a sneaking suspicion that it is actually Ryan himself posting under one of his many pen names, DJ Reggie.

Thanks all,

This one counts as DRA love because it's his beautiful wifey! This photo was too hott not to share, so enjoy all!

Now it's Time to Party

|
So now I am back home home (in Nuevo Mexico) with my best friends! This one especially. Oh how sweet it is to be home!

The beautiful couple

|
A very good friend of mine was recently married in Dripping Springs, TX and it was beautiful. A small and intimate crowd with local beer and Conan's pizza (the BEST pizza). There were many games of ropey stumpy and LOTS of dancing.

I am so excited for the beautiful couple and hope their lives are full of wonderful things.

Travel Updates

|
Check out this amazing sign. It has been at this liquor store for over 30 years. It's on Highway 287 in the middle of nowhere Colorado. This sweet old man came out of his trailor set up right beside the store to take my sister and I's photo.

This is definitely a forever place.

Music Thursday.

Since I am on vacation this week, my blog faithfulness has been somewhat lacking. So here are a few for you.

1. These lovely hot men have a few new songs available on their MySpace. It is toooo amazing for words.
